The 4 Travel Rituals I Swear By For Gut Health + Digestion. Keep Yourself Balanced and Energized.


Traveling is the best, but it can leave me dehydrated, bloated, and backed up! Here's how I kept myself fueled in Tulum and the bonus is, I saved money on at least one meal a day!


When you're traveling, you're already dependent on eating out. You're indulging in a lot of extra ingredients, possibly insecticides, maybe even GMOs. It is so important to take extra care of yourself during travel to keep your immunity up and your gut health on point.


Since I started traveling on a regular basis, I decided I wanted to create a routine that kept my digestion running smoothly and still be able to have a few fun meals without the bloat and guilt.


While I was in Tulum last week I stuck to this routine and I was so diligent that I was even more regular than I have been at home!




1) WATER

Do you drink enough water?

  • Flying: drink more water than you think you need! Make sure you buy the largest water bottle you can before your flight, if it's over 2 hours, buy 2! Flying is extremely dehydrating. I also learned eating an apple on the plane really helps, something about the pectin I think. I've been playing with that one too.


  • Hotel: When you arrive to the town you're staying in, stop at a market before you get to your hotel, buy a few gallons of water to keep at the hotel and refill your water bottles for your days out.




2) APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

At home we drink a shot of apple cider vinegar every morning. It's been known to reduce inflammation, be a probiotic, kill the bad bacteria and it really keeps things moving.

3) VITAMINS

Take them daily and avoid "multivitamins".


There is a lot of controversy around multivitamins and I wont go into all that, but it is my understanding that there is not a lot of quality control and when a company is trying to pack 20-30 ingredients into a pill at a very inexpensive price it is flawed by default.
